Being from Eastern Kentucky, I know my roots and I've never strayed too far from them.
While I love creating upscale menus and elevated event experiences, my heart will always belong to good old Southern comfort food. Meatloaf, chicken and dumplings, pinto beans with salmon patties, macaroni and tomatoes, and a side of greens... now those are the starters of some great meals!
There's something about those dishes that tell a story. They remind us of family gathered around the table after church on Sunday, recipes passed down through generations, and meals made with love instead of trends.
Don't get me wrong, we can create the fancy stuff too. But if you ask me where we shine the brightest, it's right here. Comfort food is what we know. It's what we grew up on. And it's what we do best.
Sometimes the most memorable meal isn't the fanciest one, it's the one that feels like home.
