So do you ever have a day where Jesus was whispering to you at different times and you probably weren’t listening? Then at some point you think, “What, wait a minute!” That was my yesterday! ❤️
It was about 12:57 & I was closing coffee shop for my 1:00-2:00 delivery time. A car pulled up and I thought…”Shoot!” I did turn the lights back on and welcomed them in. A mom & her family were traveling to Garden City, Kansas all the way from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan Canada! Then I turned around from making drinks and there were 3 more adults & 6 kids from out of town. I made them all drinks and walked out at 1:25. I still got my errands ran, but my time was a bit stretched. From Canada 🇨🇦 Wow!! They had found the coffee shop on Google Maps. I had posted to Google about a year ago. We’re there…just take a look. Click on the small coffee cup & sure enough there’s Wallace, Nebraska & the coffee shop.
Then after school we were busy enough so I didn’t hear the motorcycle pull up. In walked a man & pulls off his shades! What! You’re kidding! Do you all remember Allen Becker? His family had lived here at one time & his step-dad, Jim Harold, was the rural mail carrier. He had 2 sisters, Hailey & Mickayla. Unfortunately, Mickayla had drowned at the Sutherland Reservoir. He had another brother named Zachary. Sonny & I had brought the kids to church with us several times.
Allen is all grown up, has a family including a young daughter & a newly adopted 16 year old. He is employed at Penners Tire & Auto as a mechanic and service manager in McCool Junction. He was my 4th grade student 24 years ago and has been out of high school 14 years! His life is very good he said and he was traveling back from South Dakota, Idaho, Colorado on his 2nd annual motorcycle trip to see the country and wanted to stop here! He loves his family and he & his wife are now foster parents of 3 new young children.
So…you never know. Thanks Jesus for my visitors here at the coffee shop in small town, USA. What a day!
