🧸✨ THE JUNE MENU IS FINALLY HERE! ✨🐛

Perfection takes time, and this one was definitely worth the wait.

On June 23, we were invited to join the Summer Kickoff Celebration at the Walkersville Library, and saying yes was easy!

WE HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE THAT DAY!

To celebrate, the team at Whistle Stop Coffee created a menu inspired entirely by children’s books. Each drink is fun, creative, and honestly one of the most visually exciting menus we’ve ever put together.

We can’t wait for you to see it. Let us know—which one are you most excited to try first? 📚☕️✨

I’ll keep this short and sweet.

Coffee is simply the vehicle we use at Whistle Stop Coffee to bring people together—and it works.

Every time the open sign is on, we watch people gather on the patio, strike up conversations, and connect with complete strangers. We love that because coffee isn’t political. It isn’t religious. It isn’t controversial. It’s something we can all share and bond over.

Truthfully, I needed that. And judging by the thousands of people who have come through our little coffee shop, it seems many of you needed it too.

That being said, my regulars deserve a special mention. Many of them started as customers having a conversation with a complete stranger—me. Over time, they’ve become so much more than patrons. They’ve become friends and a big part of the reason I continue doing this.

This morning, completely out of nowhere, I found myself getting absolutely swamped. Without hesitation, our friends Lynn and Courtney jumped behind the counter to help. What started as simple coffee shop conversations has grown into genuine friendships in the most unexpected and beautiful way.

Simply put, I don’t know what I’d do without them in my life at this point.

The best part? It all started with a cup of coffee and a simple conversation.

Waking up at 4:30 this morning was easier than usual.

My coffee journey started 15 years ago when I joined Wegmans as part of the team opening their Frederick location…. This was 2011 🦖..While the store was being built, I drove to Leesburg, VA every day for training.

What started as someone who didn’t even like coffee turned into managing their coffee shop and eventually becoming a trainer for Wegmans coffee teams.

Life has a funny way of coming full circle. When I got the call to help celebrate the store’s 15th anniversary, saying yes was easy.

I loved the opportunity to reflect on where this passion began and how it helped lead me to where I am today. ☕️💙

Let’s not forget, they had a chance to try for the first time!

Thank you Wegmans for welcoming me home 🤎

WANT TO COMPETE? … I don’t

Let’s talk about “competition” for a minute.

I’ll start by saying this: competition doesn’t really have a place in coffee — at least not for me.

In the 10 years I’ve been involved in coffee, I’ve heard that word more recently than ever before, so let’s address it.

If you’ve ever been to my counter, you’ve probably seen me repping another coffee shop in some way — stickers on the cash box, sweatshirts, hats, t-shirts, décor on the counter. The truth is, it’s so much easier to support a community than to pretend others don’t exist.

I refer events to fellow coffee trucks all the time. I check in on other owners, ask if they need anything, cheer them on, and if I can’t make an event, I’m happy to pass opportunities along. Thankfully, that support is often reciprocated.

The beautiful thing about coffee shops is that no two are the same. Every business offers something unique that can’t be replicated. Each one is built from a personal story, a passion, and a purpose. That’s what makes small businesses so special.

Recently, someone came to my counter and said, “If you don’t go into business with me, I’ll open my own coffee shop and we’ll be competitors.”

Honestly, that broke my heart a little, because I would be the first person cheering you on. I’d come buy coffee from you, support you, and promote you too. It’s never a competition. I am me, and you are you.

Just yesterday, someone else told me they wanted to open a coffee truck like mine but didn’t want it to feel competitive. What I told her was, Babe, it won’t be. Coffee is not a competition — it’s an opportunity to bring people together.

So to Bad Brain Coffee, I love your brand and your vibe. Dublin, I adore everything you stand for. Red Envelope, Copper Fox, Lightsome, and Cloud Splitter — I’m always in your corner. Rise Up, you’re an OG. And to all the others, I truly hope you thrive in your art.
