🌼 MUM AUCTION FOR MAIN STREET WALDRON! 🌼

We’re auctioning off these (5) beautiful 12” mums to help raise funds for our newly acquired historic property! ❤️

As we begin rehabilitating this property, we have cleanup expenses ahead of us, including debris removal and dump fees (dump fees will be paid to the city).
As of right now, estimated debris removal and dump fees will likely exceed $1,000. Every dollar raised helps us take another step forward!

Starting bid: $20

💛 AUCTION #3 — Yellow Mums (Bidding on a set of 2)
Starting bid: $20

• Each auction is separate!
• Bids must increase by at least $1.
• Place your bid in the comments under the picture of the specific mum you're bidding on.
• Bidding ends this Friday (23rd) at 12:00 PM (noon)!

Every bid helps us move this project forward, and we are so thankful for the community support as we work to revitalize Historic Main Street Waldron.

🧡🖤 THE HEART OF WALDRON THROUGH THE EYES OF OUR WHS SENIORS! 🖤🧡

We say it often - our community is so special. It’s not any one thing that makes it special, but the people who call Waldron home are at the top of the list!

We love seeing the next generation take pride in the place we call home…something that hasn’t always happened in recent years. BUT, this year, our Senior Class did just that with their Homecoming float!

For those that don’t know, every year, our freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior classes work hard to create floats for the Homecoming parade. And this year, our seniors created a miniature version of Historic Main Street Waldron! 🧡

Seeing these students take the time to recreate our downtown buildings and businesses means more than they may realize. Our Main Street is a place filled with memories, small businesses, hard work, and the stories that have shaped our community. It's a part of Waldron's identity, and it's a part of what makes our town special.

At Main Street Waldron, we believe preserving our history is about more than just saving buildings. It's about making sure the next generation understands their value, takes pride in where they come from, and sees the potential in where we're going.

To the Senior Class, THANK YOU for giving Historic Main Street a place on your float and reminding us that the heart of our community is worth celebrating! We hope you know how awesome your float was and it was appreciated!

PS…they even created a chant! We’ll include the words of it in the post and a video of it in the comments!

Last week, we shared about the visitor guide booklet we created for Turkey Track called “Turkey Track to Main”. This guide provided our visitors with information about our Historic Downtown District including some history, a business listing and map, information on the museum, as well as some information about our nonprofit, Main Street Waldron.
Within the guide was a page called “Turkey Track Trail” which encouraged our visitors to check out businesses within our historic district and receive a stamp. Once their page was completed with five business visits/stamps, they turned it in at any location. It was great seeing and visiting with all of the Turkey Trackers.
All of the businesses provided items for a basket, and a winner was drawn from the completed Turkey Track Trail entries.
This year’s winner was Michael Kennedy! Congrats, Michael (pictured here with Laura)!

We are proud to have helped host this informative event. If you weren’t able to attend, he is your chance to get to know the candidates. We hope you will take a little time to listen, get to know the candidates, and hear where they stand on issues.

A big thank you to all the candidates who took the time to participate and to the community members who came out to listen and learn. We also want to thank Scott Theater for opening their doors and allowing us to use the theater for this event.

Y’all, what a difference a day makes! ❤️ 15 volunteers. About 4 hours. And a whole lot of hard work!

Today we tackled the overgrown mess at our new property, and WOW 😱,did this crew get things done! We still have some clearing to do, but we can finally start to see what’s been hiding under all that growth! We can tell already that our plans can be expanded for an even better Community Hub.

Main Street Waldron is a volunteer-led nonprofit, and we truly couldn’t do what we do without people who are willing to show up, roll up their sleeves, and work right alongside us. Our volunteers continually outdo themselves, and we hope each of you knows just how much you mean to us. We appreciate you more than words can say!

We are SO excited about what this property can become! We know we have a long road ahead, and it won’t happen overnight. But days like today remind us what a community can accomplish when people come together.

One workday at a time, we’re going to get there! ❤️

Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who showed up today! We couldn’t ask for a better crew!

A big thank you to the Classes of 1991 and 2016 for coming out and tailgating with us on Main Street for Homecoming!

The Class of ’91 went ALL OUT! They showed up early, set up camp, and stayed with us all day and into the night! 😂 We loved seeing everyone catching up, laughing, and making the most of their reunion.
And that earned them the Forever Bulldog Award! 🏆🐾 Congratulations, Class of ’91! You definitely showed up and showed out!

Thanks also to the Class of ’16 for joining in the Homecoming fun!

What an amazing time at the Homecoming Dance last night! Main Street welcomed hundreds of people to dance the night away. It may have been a little chilly and the wind was brutal, but that didn’t stop you! Our community is the BEST; thank you for showing up and showing out!

good times + good music + good company = great memories
