It’s been 12 years since this man walked the earth with us. Losing him changed me in ways so profound I am still discovering them. He would be 78 and I often find myself creating the life we didn’t get to live after he died. The great grandbabies, the fishing trips, lake vacations, singing along to Buffett tunes one the deck. Sunsets, bocce, margaritas (for him) the goofy hats and silly neckties he’d wear for the kids at holidays. The way he’d since very verse of “ Bog down in the valley” on St Patrick’s day and how he loved his bacon and eggs on Sunday mornings. He made a killer chili and above all else his motto was “you can’t take it with you”. I am grateful that he lived the way he did, it is a small balm to my heart knowing he loved his life and most of all US with every fiber of his being. Right until the day he died. Grief is kicking my ass today. BUMPY- I love you and I’ll continue to be grateful for you every day of my life. Happy Birthday💜
