The End Of Maine Kebab
Maine Kebab was born as a reaction to the pandemic. Last year my wedding catering business was on hold indefinitely and restaurants closed. I felt a strong need to feed people. I looked at what was available and came up with a plan to get food to my small town in a safe manner. I wanted to make a menu that was different for the area but comforting and filling at the same time. I drew inspiration from the halal carts of New York serving big boxes of lamb and rice to hungry chefs like me after work and the kebab shops of Germany with their big messy sandwiches and fries. It grew into something much larger and I was so happy to feed so many people. To see my little idea become so many peoples weekly meals really made me happy.
So with a heavy heart I’m pulling the plug on Maine Kebab. It’s time for me to get back to the wedding business and to the sustainable local agriculture that’s so close to my heart. There are simply not enough workers right now. I promise to expand my business beyond weddings because I really do want to be able to feed all of you. Thank you all for the support and stay tuned for what’s next. - Shane ❤️
