🌿 THE VILLAGE COMMONS — TOMORROW! 🌿

What if one afternoon a month, we simply opened the doors and made Roots & Wings our shared village?

That’s the idea behind The Village Commons—a new monthly gathering for families to come together, let the kids play, meet new people, follow their interests, share what they know, and spend time in community without every minute being programmed.

And we’re starting tomorrow. 💛

Friday, September 11 | 1–4 PM
📍 Shanti Mandir, Walden

For our first Commons, we’ll have:

🎴 Pokémon Club — bring your cards!
🧶 Beginner Crochet Club with Shannon
🌿 Nature playscape + mud kitchen
🎲 Games + free play
💦 Creek play
🎂 A special birthday celebration with cake + a magician!

And there’s plenty of room for whatever *you* want to bring to the village—an activity, a game, a skill, music, a craft, or simply yourself.

Come for an hour. Stay all afternoon. Bring a friend. Bring lunch. Get muddy. Wander. Connect.

There is something powerful that happens when young people are given the time, space, and encouragement to create.

Not because someone told them exactly what to make.

But because they have something to express.

At Roots & Wings Village, our Creative Arts Immersion invites children to explore their ideas, experiment with new materials, take creative risks, and discover the confidence that comes from bringing something uniquely their own into the world.

Some days that might look like painting.

Other days it might be sculpture, fiber arts, storytelling, music, movement, theater, or collaborative projects that weave together many forms of creative expression.

The finished piece isn't the goal.

The process is.

Because creativity teaches so much more than artistic skills.

It teaches problem-solving.
Perseverance.
Communication.
Collaboration.
Self-expression.
And the courage to share their unique voice.

Our Creative Arts Immersion is a part of our Middle School Program for ages 10–14, with a few spaces still available this fall.

Is your child entering the middle school years?

The transition into adolescence brings new questions, new needs, and new possibilities.

Young people are beginning to seek greater independence while still needing meaningful guidance, connection, and a strong sense of belonging. They're discovering their interests, developing their own voices, and figuring out who they are becoming.

At Roots & Wings Village, we believe these years deserve an educational experience that meets young people where they are.

Join us for a Virtual Middle School Information Session to learn more about our programs for ages 10–15 and the ways we're supporting young people through this important season.

We'll share more about:

🌲 Wilderness Skills Immersion
🎨 Creative Arts Immersion
📚 Academic Enrichment

We'll talk about our relationship-centered approach, the rhythm and structure of our programs, what learning looks like in each pathway, and how the different offerings can come together to support your child's individual interests and growth.
