Long before it became Anton’s, this building was known as Bricky’s, named after its original owner and builder, Cy Brick, who constructed it in the early 1920s. During Prohibition, Bricky’s operated as a speakeasy. The location along the Sauk River made it a convenient stop for bootleggers transporting moonshine through the Midwest. Bricky’s remained a popular gathering place for decades before Anton and Lorraine Gaetz purchased the property in 1973 and transformed it into their own. More than 50 years later, Anton’s remains proudly family-owned and operated by the second generation, honoring traditions with hospitality, exceptional food and local flair.
