Pizza making 🍕, cupcake decorating 🧁, root b**r class 🍺, piñatas 🎊, cake 🎂, and SO much more! These two were definitely rocking it! 🤘💥

A HUGE thank you to all the amazing parents who came, helped, joined in on the fun, and sent me all the photos because, let’s be honest… I barely got any! 😂📸

Happy 17th Anniversary to us! ❤️🥂

From meeting on Maui, to moving to Kauai, NY, San Diego, Maui, NY, and finally back to Maui… we’ve definitely covered some miles together! 🌴✈️

Then came losing your job in the fire, opening a location, storms, road closures, county hold-ups, sinkholes literally in front of our restaurant, and liquor permit hold-ups… 😂 Let’s just say all of it has aged us greatly! Lol.

There’s no one else I’d rather ride this wave with — or the many waves we’ve created together. 🌊❤️

Here’s to the next level and whatever adventure comes our way next! Let’s just hope this newest issue gets resolved quickly. 🙏

Shooting for mid-November, when you can come over and enjoy the best pizza and b**r on Maui! 🍕🍺🌴

Off she goes for her big day!! 💍🤍

It’s been a while, but this cake inspo is STILL going strong! I think it’s been about 3 years now that I’ve been making this design, and people just can’t get enough of it. 🥰

I will say… it doesn’t always get easier, especially when you’re writing in black on a white cake and have to “erase it” because it’s slightly off-center. 😏🙃😂

I’m still not taking custom orders — this was an order from last year. But you can always come down to our restaurant and enjoy a variety of delicious foods and desserts! 😋🍰

The latest update: our liquor permit is now looking like it will be approved in November.

The sinkhole repairs are still underway, and we’ve continued to face challenge after challenge. JD lost his job in the fire, and since then we’ve been doing everything we can to get this business open. To make things even harder, the road in front of the restaurant has been closed since the Kona storms in March. Progress with the county has been slow, and we wish there was more support for the small businesses and community affected by these circumstances.

Despite it all, we keep moving forward.

We’re currently looking for our final investors or donations to help complete the brewery installation. If you or someone you know might be interested, please contact Koa Brewing Co for more information.

If investing isn’t an option, there are still meaningful ways to support us. Come by for dinner, tell a friend about us, or share this post. Every visit and every recommendation makes a difference.

We’re currently open for dinner Wednesday through Sunday, 4:30–8:00 PM. As soon as the road reopens and foot traffic increases, we’ll be expanding our hours and updating our menus throughout the fall.

We’re reaching out with an update on our liquor permit process.

Our attorney has informed us that we’re now looking at November before our permit may be approved. We honestly don’t understand why this has taken so long. We submitted our application last year, and our location has previously operated with a liquor permit. There have been no changes to the property and nothing on our end has caused these delays.

At this point, the delay is with the liquor permitting process. We’ve been asked to repeat steps that have already been completed for this location, and we’re still waiting for our application to move forward.

Our attorney has suggested that community support could help. Over the coming days, we’ll be sharing the names and contact information for county officials, the liquor commission, and candidates for office who you can respectfully contact.

If you’d like to support us, please consider sending an email, making a phone call, or visiting their offices to let them know you’d like to see Koa Brewing receive its liquor permit and have this process move forward.

Jds on the news again. Hopefully next time it will be about the best b**r on Maui bot a natural disaster but for now he’s bringing attention to businesses in Kiehi that can use a little love!!
