💚 Wednesday – 68 kids
💛 Thursday – 92 kids
💜 Friday – 59 kids

✨ Total meals served this week: 290

That brings our summer total to 1,034 FREE meals served!

Another week is in the books, and because of your continued support, we were able to feed even more children in our community!

Last week’s numbers:
✨ Tuesday – 73 kids
✨ Wednesday – 38 kids
✨ Thursday – 62 kids
✨ Friday – 103 kids

Total meals served last week: 276, bringing our grand total to 744 free meals served this summer! 🎉

Every meal matters, and every child matters. Thank you to everyone who has donated, volunteered, shared our posts, and helped us make this program possible. We couldn’t do it without our amazing community!

Y’all know we love serving y’all, but tomorrow we’re putting down the pots and pans and picking up the sparklers! 🎇❤️

Armstrong’s Bayou Café and Armstrong’s Bayou Express Food Truck will be CLOSED tomorrow, July 4th, so our team can spend time with family and enjoy the holiday.

Y’all be safe, eat good, have fun, and don’t pop too many fireworks! We’ll be back serving up your Bayou favorites soon.

📢 Important Update Regarding Our Free Summer Meals Program 📢

To continue providing free meals to children this summer in a safe, positive, and respectful environment, we are implementing a new policy effective immediately:

✅ A parent or responsible adult MUST be present with their child(ren) to receive meals. That responsible person will place the child's or children's order.

❌ We are not responsible for supervising children.

Unfortunately, we have experienced incidents involving fighting, cursing, and disruptive behavior. Our goal is to continue serving our community, but we need everyone’s cooperation to maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all families.

We appreciate your understanding and support as we continue feeding our kids this summer. ❤️

I am truly honored and humbled to be a nominee for Prom Queen at the 2026 Waco Adult Prom. Thank you so much for this recognition and for highlighting my journey and passion for sharing my New Orleans heritage through Armstrong’s Bayou Café and Armstrong’s Bayou Express.

Serving this community through food, outreach, and programs like our Free Summer Meals for Kids has been one of my greatest blessings. To be acknowledged for doing something I genuinely love means more than words can express.

Aneka is the proud owner of Armstrong’s Bayou Café and Armstrong’s Bayou Express Food Truck, where she brings the authentic flavors and traditions of New Orleans to Central Texas through her restaurant, food truck, catering services, and community events.

Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, Aneka developed a passion for cooking at just 8 years old, learning treasured family recipes alongside her parents and siblings. For Aneka, food has always been about more than a meal—it’s about family, community, celebration, and creating lasting memories.

What began as a family tradition has grown into a thriving business dedicated to sharing authentic Creole cuisine and genuine Southern hospitality. Beyond serving incredible food, Aneka is deeply committed to giving back through initiatives such as her Free Summer Meals for Kids program and other community outreach efforts that support families throughout the Waco area.

Her dedication to preserving her heritage, serving others, and strengthening the community makes her an outstanding Prom Queen nominee. Congratulations, Aneka, and thank you for the positive impact you continue to make in Central Texas!
