Vista Farmers Market Community Cafe is a completely original idea created by Machado Farms. It is a booth at the Vista farmers market that will cook and serve an array of fresh fruits and vegetables from Machado Farms and other local farmers. Every morning we will walk through the farmers market, collecting fresh food from participating farmers. All ingredients will be fresh, in season, and as clean as possible. All food will be cooked to order and all utensils and bowls will be 100% compostable. Any ingredients that are left over at the end of the day will be composted back into our farm. We will also be using a "pay as you go" concept, in which customers will pay what they can afford. A price will be suggested, but everyone will get fed regardless of payment. Restaurants have been very successful with the "pay as you go" concept in the past, but Machado Farms is the first to implement this method at a farmers market. We are hoping to make fresh, healthy meals attainable for people everywhere, regardless of how much money they have. In short, we are attempting to feed the world.
