As we approach another fabulous weekend here in our historic town of Virginia City, we wanted to share a few updates with you!

We are still searching for the perfect buyer for this truly special property. This beautiful late 1800s saloon remains largely intact and features its original speakeasy, a fully renovated apartment, four beautiful historic back bars, and a fully operational commercial kitchen. The possibilities are truly endless, and there is so much potential and opportunity waiting within these historic walls.

Whether you envision continuing its legacy as a saloon and restaurant, creating something entirely new, or pursuing a dream of your own, this unique property offers an incredible opportunity to become part of Virginia City’s rich Gold Rush history. We would be happy to share our family recipes and traditions with whoever would potentially want to continue the legacy we have built. Of course, until the perfect buyer comes along, we will continue operating as The Road Agents’ Roost. We are looking forward to the upcoming Oktoberfest season and are currently searching for a small local Oompah band - or perhaps a talented “one-man band” - who can entertain our guests with lively traditional European folk music on select weekend evenings throughout September and October. If you know someone who might be a good fit, we would love to hear from you!

For now, we are still enjoying our summer hours and are incredibly grateful for the tremendous support and business we have experienced this year. We extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our wonderful local friends who recommend us to travelers they meet, and to everyone who has spent so many memorable afternoons and evenings with us this summer. Your support has been absolutely amazing, and we truly appreciate it!

For just $20 a person, you'll get exclusive access to their specialized tools and equipment, used to detect environmental changes and attempt communication with the spirits right here in our building and town! We've had incredible success on their past visits. You'll also embark on a guided exploration of our historic streets. Our expert ghost hunters will not only lead the way but also share fascinating local legends and their own chilling paranormal experiences. Hungarian Goulash is available this weekend as well for the first time all summer! Come enjoy the wonderful warm flavors of beef slow cooked in sweet Hungarian paprika, served over a bed of egg noodles and your choice of a side.

What a beautiful and busy Sunday it's been so far! We even had a spontaneous parade earlier around 2:30 PM (huge shoutout to Sean and his amazing Lovebus!).

Dont forget friends, we're having a Cherry Festival right here in Virginia City next Saturday, August 8th! At The Roost, we'll be serving up lots of delicious cherry specials, so be sure to swing by during your visit.

We've loved seeing all our friends stopping in for a beer at our bar - it's been such a wonderful addition to our usual dining atmosphere! Whether you're in town looking for a relaxing sit-down meal or just hoping to enjoy a great beer and an appetizer at our bar, you'll always be greeted with a friendly smile. We're the spot for you!

Sourcing our largest dinner platters from a grandmas cabinet near you! Our House Schnitzels are too big for normal plates! Come enjoy this crispy homemade goodness 😋😋 as always we have tons of sides available, and plenty of the cold variety for those hot afternoons like today! Due to some record high weekends - we are in need of an additional server to help us as we approach the end of our summer season, and to assist us as we lead in to our coming Oktoberfest season. Ideally from August to mid October, Thursday through Sunday from 12/1pm to 7pm. Work with us in a welcoming, family atmosphere where we enjoy very generous tips and free meals. Friends, today we celebrate seven years in business here in Virginia City at our lovely Roost! We are endlessly grateful for the opportunities we have found here, and the incredible success that can still be found in our old boomtown. Seven years of wonderful memories, delicious meals, and unforgettable conversations. Thank you all, so very much!

As a small Mother + Daughter owned business, we are humbled by the amazing reputation we have built here, hard work pays off! Thank you for loving what we have created here as much as we do.
