At Commonwealth Brewing Company, we believe that beer should be adventurous, diverse, extremely drinkable, and sometimes wild. We uphold rustic farmhouse traditions, huge hop American styles, and the complex depths of wild fermentations. Located in the newly renovated, former Chesapeake Beach Fire & Rescue station in Virginia Beach, we’re proud to continue the tradition as a local gathering place. 🌺 PARADISE, AGED IN BARRELS
 
Eleven years deserves a Stout worthy of the occasion. Talk Story is our Anniversary Tiki Stout, a celebration of big flavors, tropical indulgence, and eleven amazing years of craftsmanship. This decadent stout is a blend of one-, two-, and three-year-old barrel aged stouts pulled from Buffalo Trace, Weller, Elijah Craig, and Willett barrels, bringing layers of bourbon depth and oak-aged complexity to every sip. From there, we took the finished blend somewhere tropical, conditioning it on dates, banana, coconut, hand-roasted macadamia nuts, cacao nibs, and Madagascar vanilla beans.
 
Big, rich, and intensely flavorful at 12%, Talk Story still drinks remarkably smooth, with layer after layer unfolding like a tiki cocktail in stout form 🌺🥥🍌🍫 Hitting both taprooms 9/4

Brewed in collaboration with our friends at Pelon’s Baja Grill, this tropical hop bomb is loaded with New Zealand’s finest:
🌿 Riwaka Subzero Hopkief: intensely dank, bringing big passionfruit, grapefruit & lime.
🍊 New Zealand Cascade: a Kiwi twist on the classic Cascade profile, bringing bright citrus, floral notes, & spice.
🌴 New Zealand Pacific Sunrise: juicy and tropical with notes of citrus and stone fruit.

Trippy Gems — DIPA | 8.3% ABV
Our powerhouse combo of Superdelic + Idaho Gem bring ripe mango, red berries, peach, raspberry, and guava.

Squeeze Play — Gose | 6.0% ABV
Peach, strawberry, honey, vanilla, and lemon zest come together for a bright, summery finish. Squeeze in the last bit of summer.

Gone Troppo — IPA | 5.5% ABV
100% Nectaron, bursting with pineapple, peach, passion fruit, citrus, and grapefruit. A low ABV offering that packs a serious flavor punch.

Your newest escape has landed! Tiki Townie is our 6.0% ABV Gose that pours like a tropical vacation: creamy coconut and ripe banana up front, followed by juicy strawberry, mango, and bright orange citrus. A little vanilla and an irresponsible amount of coconut bring it all together, balancing the acidity with that frozen-tiki-drink kind of smoothness.
 
No plane ticket required. Just grab a glass and let the neighborhood get a little more tropical 🌺

One of our favorite West Coast IPAs is back on the lineup, and this time we turned up the sunshine. Triumph pours with a massive hit of citrus and floral hop character, bringing waves of peach, lime, orange, and ruby red grapefruit before settling into that classic piney West Coast groove🌲
 
A crisp, dry finish keeps everything dialed in, while grapefruit zest and a subtle touch of passionfruit add a little extra kick. It’s the Triumph you know and love… just with the tropical character turned all the way up 🌊🍊

The wait is finally over… our yearly Oktoberfest Märzen Lager is back, and we’re eagerly anticipating the best season of the year! Brewed in the classic German tradition, this Märzen pours a stunning golden hue and welcomes you with rich aromas of fresh-baked bread, golden honey, caramel, and a touch of toffee. Every sip is built on a beautifully malty grain bill that delivers depth without sacrificing drinkability. We spunded this beer to naturally carbonate the old-fashioned way for an exceptionally smooth mouthfeel and a thick foam worthy of a proper stein raise.
