A lot of people see the food when they walk into Felynn, but there’s a whole family behind it. That’s a big part of what makes this place feel different.

Felynn has always been about more than putting Filipino food on a plate. It’s about keeping the recipes, traditions, and hospitality that come from home alive here in Virginia Beach.

The food is cooked daily, the menu changes, and if you don’t recognize something behind the glass, that’s okay. Point to something that looks good, ask questions, grab a sample and try something new.

You don’t have to know Filipino food before you walk through the door. You just have to be curious.

And if you’ve been looking for a place to bring your family, introduce someone to Filipino food, or just grab a plate of something you’ve never tried before, we’d love to have you!

Somewhere between the heat of a Virginia Beach summer and a spoonful of halo-halo, you start to understand why Filipinos love this dessert
Halo-halo literally means “mix-mix,” and that’s kind of the point. Different textures, different flavors, all coming together in one cold, colorful dessert that somehow works.

And the best part? You don’t have to grow up eating it to fall in love with it. Have you had halo-halo before?

A lot of people know us as Felynn, but not everyone knows where the name came from. Before Felynn, we were actually called Felito. But as our family and our story changed, it didn’t quite feel like us anymore. When it came time for a new name, we didn’t hire a branding agency or spend months trying to come up with the perfect logo
We kept it simple. Fe + Ferrielynn = Felynn.
A mother’s name and her daughter’s name, brought together to represent the family behind the restaurant.
Looking back, it’s kind of funny how something so simple ended up meaning so much.

To everyone who remembers us as Felito, thank you for sticking with us through the years.

And if you’re just finding us now, we’re really glad you’re here.

Many people know Felynn for the food. But fewer know the story behind how it all began.
Before Felynn became a gathering place for the Filipino community in Hampton Roads, it started with one woman who spent more than 30 years managing restaurant franchises before deciding it was time to build something of her own.
When the journey became too much to carry alone, her daughter left a successful career in real estate to help turn that dream into a family business.
The road wasn’t easy. It took sacrifice, long hours, and a willingness to learn whatever the business demanded.
Today, every dish we serve is a reminder that this restaurant was built not just on recipes, but on family, resilience, and the courage to start over.
