Before it ever reaches your table, every lumpia begins the same way and that’s carefully rolled by hand, one at a time.
For many Filipino families, lumpia serves more than just something to eat because It’s also something you make together, bring to celebrations, and share with the people around you. That’s what makes it more than just an appetizer.
It’s tradition, wrapped one roll at a time.

“A lot of people don’t know this… but I’m actually half Filipino.”

When shared that with us, we knew this would be more than a restaurant visit.

It became a conversation about family, heritage, and the foods that keep us connected to where we come from.

For Vega, that dish is adobo, a Filipino classic that reminds so many of us of home. Every family has their own way of making it, but the feeling is always the same: comfort, tradition, and sharing a meal with the people you love.

We’re honored to have shared this experience with Vega and her family, and we’re excited to continue telling stories that celebrate Filipino culture here in Hampton Roads.

🇵🇭 What’s the one Filipino dish that feels like home to you?

It’s amazing what can happen around a table.

Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of welcoming so many people through our doors families, friends, creators, first-time visitors, and members of the Hampton Roads community who simply wanted to experience a little piece of the Philippines.

Every conversation, every shared meal, every collaboration has helped tell our story in ways we never could have on our own.

To everyone who’s visited, shared a meal, created content, recommended us to a friend, or simply continued to support our family-owned restaurant thank you.

You didn’t just help grow Felynn. You helped build a community.

Maraming salamat. 🇵🇭❤️

In Filipino culture, food has always been one of the ways we show love.

This Father’s Day, we celebrate the dads, tatays, grandfathers, uncles, and father figures who worked hard, sacrificed quietly, and always made sure there was a seat at the table for family.

Whether it’s sharing stories over pancit, gathering around a feast, or simply enjoying a meal together, today is about honoring the men who helped shape our lives.

From our Felynn family to yours, Happy Father’s Day. Maraming salamat for your strength, guidance, and unconditional love. ❤️🇵🇭

Unlike Italian spaghetti, Filipino spaghetti uses a sweet tomato-based sauce (often made with banana ketchup, which gives it that signature sweetness and reddish-orange color). It’s loaded with sliced hotdogs (usually the red ones), ground meat, and sometimes cheese on top. The result is a sweet-savory comfort food that’s a staple at Filipino birthday parties, holidays, and family gatherings basically the dish every Filipino kid grew up eating.

Have you had chicken adobo before?

Chicken Adobo is the beloved national dish of the Philippines. It features bone-in chicken thighs or drumsticks braised in a flavorful, tangy, and slightly sweet sauce made from soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, bay leaves, and whole black peppercorns. As it simmers, the liquid reduces into a rich, sticky glaze.

Come give us a try!

Last week we had the chance to host and her family at Felynn for something that became bigger than just food.

Over shared dishes and conversation, we talked about family, Filipino identity, and the ways culture gets passed down across generations sometimes through stories, and sometimes through the meals we grow up around.

Excited to share more from this experience soon 🇵🇭

Felynn serves traditional Filipino cuisine through the style of turo-turo meaning “point-point” a common way of dining in the Philippines where guests simply point to the dishes they want, creating an experience that feels both personal and deeply connected to home.
