'Twas the night before school starts, and all through the towns,
Not a creature was cooking, not even a spouse!
The backpacks were hung by the front door with care,
In hopes that the morning would find them all there.
The children were nesting all snug in their beds,
While visions of recess danced inside their heads.
With moms in their PJs and dads needing a break,
