come and see our sweet Ally ❤️
Last night we were pretty worn out. We planned to cook dinner, but going out seemed to be the popular vote. So off to Marinos we went!
We sat down and pretty quickly our daughter with autism was having a hard time. She was loud, she was flapping her arms, covering her ears. She was having a hard time regulating herself.
So the young waitress comes over and becomes involved with her outbursts. She doesn’t want a place mat, she doesn’t want a menu, she doesnt want a drink near her. She’s just having a hard time.
But this young waitress doesn’t miss a beat. She keeps attending to the rest of us, letting our daughter move the items around the table while being polite and kind the whole time.
We end up getting up and walking with our daughter to calm her down in the restaurants hallway. We return to the table more relaxed but not for long.
She wasn’t able to tell us what she wanted with her drink so the waitress kindly swapped out drinks and cups until we figured it out.
She couldn’t tell us what she wanted to eat so we did a lot of pointing and rearranging of our own plates before she acknowledged the food she wanted.
We eventually all ate and she was able to regulate her self. But the actions and kindness of the waitress is really what made our outing successful. She was positive, accommodating and understanding.
As we left for the night we thanked her for being kind.
So parents, if you have a kid that is a waitress at Marinos, who was there last night with long blonde hair, you raised a good human ❤️ Thank you!
And for the rest of you, this is your reminder to be kind. Your actions can truly alter the course of a day.
