Backwoods SoulFood Cafe is the progressive dream of 2 sisters (Barbara & Birdie Ross) who were raised on all home cooked hearty meals. With 6 other siblings to feed, they made being in the kitchen apart of their daily chores. Helping their mom cook for a household of ten was no easy task so everyone had a job they focused on. They started selling food in the late 80's as Little's Barbecue and later as Backwoods Barbecue and Burgers! Known at Bootfest in Victoria for their Turkey Legs and Hot Wing Baskets and in surrounding counties with the Food Truck that serves a full range of meals from Burgers, BBQ, Mexican and even Italian inspired dishes, Backwoods Soulfood Cafe is now focused on bringing the crossroads nothing but food for the soul! Additionally, Birdie's son Derick and his better half Cassie have taken up the mantel of continuing the family tradition. Pushing hard to mitigate the transition from food truck to full blown restaurant. Everything made from scratch down to the sauces, gravy and tartar sauce. The time and love put into every dish being a testament to the sisters' upbringings and Cassie's love of cooking as well. Don't Just Eat, Feed Your Soul
