Howdy folks.

The summer of 2023 is here and while we still aren't scheduling any vending dates yet, we think we have the next best thing lined up...an opportunity to help support our local food bank by hanging out with us for a few hours, eating some food, and learning some of our recipes. That's right, you can take some of our recipes home with you to wow your friends and family whenever you want!!

We're teaming up with Badger Prairie Needs Network (https://www.bpnn.org/) for two BBQ classes, July 29th and 30th, to help support their mission of fighting poverty and ending hunger locally. We have space for up to 30 people each day, so seats are limited, but well worth it.

Each class will cover how we make chicken thighs, pork ribs, and brisket along with two of our most popular side dishes, BBQ baked beans and coleslaw. We'll also cover how to make buns from scratch as if we don't have enough other recipes to share.

Badger Prairie Needs Network

Badger Prairie Needs Network is one of the three busiest food pantries in Dane County and the only pantry run entirely by volunteers. Services include food pantry, community meal, workforce development, legal advocacy, and on-site social worker.

Quick update for 2023.

As most of you know, BBQ is a part-time business for us. Unfortunately our full-time jobs and personal lives have made it difficult to find time for BBQ this year. Because of the lack of time, we are not booking catering and vending events in 2023 at this time. We are hopeful that we’ll be able to come back to vending and catering in the future if our full-time jobs slow down a bit.

We apologize for the empty shelves of late, but apparently the supply chain squeeze even impacts BBQ sauce production. Who knew? We finally received more product and have the shelves at Metcalfe’s Hilldale, Metcalfe’s Weet, and UW Provision Middleton stocked again. Happy shopping!

Hello everyone. It’s been a long time since we updated our page and we were looking forward to providing a much different update, but here we are playing the hand that was dealt to us.

Normally around this time of year we would announce our summer schedule packed with vending, catering, and competitions, but we aren’t living in normal times. BBQ competitions are on hold across the country and our prime vending location isn’t able to serve their award-winning beer as the finishing touch to a great meal.

At a time when we would normally look forward to long lines of folks itching to get some great BBQ, full-time restaurants are looking for any creative way they can find to bring in revenue and keep their doors open. We’re lucky in that our BBQ business is an endeavor of love and our side hustle. We can safely keep our trailer window closed and not worry about losing our business. The same can’t be said for some local restaurants.

We’re going to keep an eye on the recovery and may very well open up later this year, but for now we are keeping the trailer in storage and will not do any public vending. There are a lot of local restaurants working hard to keep their doors open and people employed. We encourage you to order a takeout meal from your other favorite spots to help them get through to the other side where we’ll be waiting.
