PUCCIA ... PUCCIA !!

Puccia is an iconic "sandwich" from Puglia. It is made from pizza dough, stuffed with a variety of ingredients, sealed, then baked to a crisp in the wood-fired pizza oven.

At Giuseppe's Ristorante and Pizzeria in North Venice, FL, six different varieties of Puccia are offered -- each large enough to feed two people.

Drew, a longtime server at Giuseppe's, serves two different Puccia to two hungry patrons.

At top is the BLT -- featuring smoked bacon, mozzarella, lettuce, tomato and mayo.

Bottom photo is the Meatball -- featuring meatballs, mozzarella, ricotta and Sunday sauce.

Other favorites are:
Crudo -- Burrata cheese, mozzarella, Parma prosciutto, arugula, tomato and basil.
Cotto -- Italian ham, mozzarella, provolone, lettuce and tomato.
Ruspante -- Free-range chicken breast, mozzarella, smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato and basil.
Contadino -- Mozzarella, grilled zucchini, tomato, artichoke hearts and garlic.
