New to Veganism and or vegetarian diet, this may help your understanding...

What is a vegetarian? Vegetarian is a diet enjoyed by people from all walks of life, and all sections of society. They don't generally want to cause a nuisance when they dine out, they really want what most people want: good food and a choice. Sadly this isn't always the case for vegetarians. If you are a vegetarian or co

nsidering becoming a vegetarian or just someone considering making a meal for a vegetarian, these will always be a much appreciated hit. Identifying "vegetarians":

Vegetarian - an umbrella term for someone who subsists on a diet of grains, beans, nuts, seeds, vegetables and fruits with or without animal "by-products" of dairy and eggs, whereas, a strict-vegetarian also referred to as a "Pure vegetarian," and not always a Vegan, will not eat any red meat, poultry, game, fish, shellfish, nor any animal by-products derived from the slaughter of any animals. What is a Vegan? Vegan is "NOT" a diet but a movement and philosophy "specifically" seeking the cessation of animal exploitation, in all it's forms -- not just as a food source -- from all segments of society's many uses and forms as products and as well as in entertainment. Strict-vegetarians also referred to as "Pure-vegetarians" who whether for religious reasons, like that of Zen practitioners or for ethical reasons, like that of the Vegan activists, neither consume nor participate in any form of animal exploitation. Identifying "Pure-vegetarians":

Zen Buddhists and Vegans diets may seem the same but Zen practitioners differ from Vegans because 1., they do tend to also exclude all onion family (garlic, shallots, chives, etc.) as well as hot peppers from their diet, 2., it's done to counter karmic consequences, and lastly, they've been eating this way for several thousands of years; whereas, "Veganism" was coined in 1943 and is a socio-political stance based on ethical reasoning. In other words, you can be a "very strict vegetarian" and still not be a Vegan, and there are many reasons for choosing a vegetarian diet. "Vegan" and "Zen" are just two examples of the more common forms of "strict vegetarians," or "pure-vegetarians" but there are many other forms of vegetarian diets, Seventh-Day Adventist Christian denomination also adheres to a very strict vegetarian diet. The four most common forms of vegetarianism are:

*Lacto-ovo-vegetarian - Eats both dairy and eggs**, and is the most common vegetarian diet.

*Ovo-vegetarian - Eats eggs** but not dairy.

*Lacto-vegetarian - Eats dairy but not eggs.

*Pure Vegetarian - the strictest vegetarian diets which attempt to stick to an exclusive vegetable diet that excludes all dairy products, eggs, or any other form of animal oils or by-products, and also excludes honey do to it's exploitation of the animals. And, just so I don't leave anyone out, there is another kind of "vegetarian" diet, albeit an debate has been ongoing over claims they can even be considered true vegetarians at all. In countries like Spain, in particular, "Chicken" and "Fish" is literally considered a vegetarian cuisine, but it's my belief that technically categorizes them as "omnivores." There are two subcategories of this "pseudo"-vegetarian group:

**Pesco-vegetarian - eats primarily a vegetarian diet, but occasionally will derive proteins from eating fish and shellfish.

**Semi-vegetarian - differentiates a person who primarily eats a vegetarian diet, but occasionally will derive proteins from eating chicken breasts and turkey bacon. Also, most vegetarians do not subsist on a diet of salads. Vegetarians eat pizzas, hot dogs, hamburgers, lasagna, chili, and even ribs and fried chicken, because most vegetarians also enjoy taste and variety, too. Here are some recipes you may like. I hope you enjoy these recipes as much as I do. Thanks for visiting. :)

I have gotten more discerning about most things as I age, but the longer I am alive, the less picky I am about peels. Unlike my seven-year-old self, who wouldn’t eat an apple unless it was peeled, cored, and cut into segments, I’m now a big fan of nature’s edible wrapping paper. (The exception...
