Serving Van Wert: Officer Dunn, Employee Spotlight.

We’re back with our Serving Van Wert series to help you get to know the men and women serving the City of Van Wert. Today, we are featuring Officer Dunn!

Officer Dunn joined law enforcement for a simple but powerful reason: the opportunity to protect the community where he lives. For him, serving Van Wert means ensuring the town stays safe and being a reliable presence whenever the public needs assistance. One of his favorite parts of the job is the personal interaction, whether it is helping a citizen or stopping by the park to play sports with local kids.

He wishes more people knew that the work goes far beyond writing tickets. On any given shift, officers respond to a wide variety of emergencies involving people from all walks of life. Having grown up here, he is constantly inspired by how many local organizations and individuals are always willing to step up and help those in need.

When he is not in uniform, Officer Dunn prioritizes family time, hitting the water for some fishing, or taking road trips to explore new places. If he hadn't pursued a career in law enforcement, he would likely be working in construction or serving back in the U.S. Army. If you see him out for a bite to eat, he is probably at 133 Bistro enjoying the classic diner atmosphere.
