Origin of Cooley Bay Winery:
The beginnings of Cooley Bay Winery started with a dream to bring a specialty drink called "The Cooley" to market. In the process of development of the "The Cooley", a love of the world of wine and the great people involved was created. In 2014, it was determined that a Tasting Room would be built in Van Alystyne, Texas were wine lovers could come together to taste som

Cooley Bay Winery, the first Winery in the City of Van Alstyne, Texas was constructed on the site of an abandoned AT&T Communications tower site. In the early 90's the tower was destroyed in a severe storm and the building remained vacant for decades until it was remodeled and enlarged into a contemporary tasting room to enjoy wine tastings, pairings, and the purchase of traditional varieties of wine, fruit wines, and experience "The Cooley". It was a beautiful morning to harvest grapes with our friends at Square Cloud Winery. But it’s so much more than just picking grapes. We learned what it takes to go from the vine to the bottle and the history of the harvest.

Pull up a rocking chair, because this week’s dessert is pure comfort. Introducing our “Front Porch Orchard Cake.” We’ve layered crisp graham crackers with a velvety mascarpone cream cheese filling, then topped it off with fresh strawberries and apples.

A subtle hint of cinnamon and maple bourbon ties it all together for the perfect sweet escape.

Don’t just drink wine this season—come understand it! Harvest season is here and we’re partnering with Square Cloud Winery and invite you to get your hands a little dirty and experience the magic of making wine firsthand.

We need your help harvesting grapes over the next two Saturdays. It’s an easy, rewarding experience that anyone can do.

🗓️When: Saturday, July 18th & Saturday, July 25th

🍇Location: Square Cloud Winery - 1023 Block Road, Gunter, TX, 75058

⏱️Time: 6:30 am (Yes, it’s early, but we want to beat the summer heat and keep it comfortable!) Be sure to wear closed toed shoes and full-length pants (like jeans)

Come both Saturdays, or pick just one…this experience is FREE! Learn how to properly select and harvest grapes right from the vine. A small breakfast and coffee will also be provided. And don’t forget your phone…Harvest time is the perfect backdrop for that perfect photo op - so grab those stunning, behind-the-scenes vineyard photos.

Space is limited so we can ensure everyone gets a great, hands-on experience.
