Walls are going up and Geitonia Dyer is officially starting to look like a restaurant! 👀

It’s pretty awesome watching our second location come together piece by piece. There’s still plenty of work ahead, but every week we’re getting closer to firing up the grills and bringing Geitonia to Dyer!

We can’t wait to show you what we’ve been working on — and even more importantly, we can’t wait to welcome all of you through these doors. 💙

Today we’re saying a very bittersweet goodbye to one of our absolute standouts, Evie! ❤️

For the past two years, Evie has been such an important part of our team. She’s hardworking, dependable, always willing to help, and truly one of those employees you wish you could keep forever.

Now she’s off to college and onto her next adventure! 🎓📚

Evie, thank you for everything you’ve given us over the last two years. We’ve loved watching you grow, we’re incredibly proud of you, and there’s no doubt you’re going to do amazing things.

You’ll always have a home here, and you’re going to be VERY missed! ❤️

A pretty special introduction today. 🇬🇷🧿

Everyone, meet Manny—the very FIRST Geitonia franchisee and the man who will be bringing Geitonia to Dyer! And we couldn’t be more excited to have Manny be the first.

Manny brings more than 15 years of restaurant experience with him, from running kitchens to owning and operating his own diners from New Jersey into Pennsylvania. He knows this business, he understands what it takes, and most importantly, he shares the same passion for taking care of people that we do.

Starting now, you’ll be seeing Manny right here at Geitonia Valpo. Before Dyer opens, he’ll be working alongside us, learning our food, our systems, our standards, and all the little things that make Geitonia… Geitonia.

We don’t want Geitonia Dyer to simply have our name on the building. We want it to have the same heart, quality, consistency, and hospitality you’ve come to expect here in Valpo.

So when you see Manny behind the counter, say hello and give him a warm Geitonia welcome.

WE’RE BACK! 🇬🇷🧿

Every year when we come back from these three weeks, I’m reminded just how lucky we are. And after the crazy few days Northwest Indiana has been through, that gratitude hits a little harder this year. We hope everyone is safe, getting their power back, and getting life back to normal. ❤️

Because of you, my family gets to go home to Greece. We get to hug people we only see once a year, sit around the same tables we grew up around, reconnect with where we came from, and make memories we’ll carry with us forever.

And because of you, I’m able to give that same gift of time to the people who help make Geitonia what it is. Our full-time team gets those three weeks off with FULL PAY, so they can be with their families, make their own memories, and never have to worry about missing a paycheck.

So from the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Thank you for choosing us. Thank you for believing in us. Thank you for giving my family, and the families of the people who work beside me, something that money can’t buy back—time together.

We love and appreciate every single one of you. And after the week our community has had, we’re especially happy to be back, open our doors, and be here for you. ❤️

We may be closed… but the work never stops. 🧿🇬🇷

Most of you will never step behind our counter or into our kitchen—and that’s exactly why we wanted to show you.

While we’ve been away, Geitonia has been getting some serious love. Deep cleaning, scrubbing, organizing, moving equipment, getting underneath and behind everything, and making sure every corner is refreshed and ready for you.

We’ve always taken an incredible amount of pride in the cleanliness of our restaurant. You trust us to prepare food for you and your family, and we take that responsibility seriously.

Anyone can keep the areas customers see clean. To us, what matters just as much are the areas you DON’T see.

We don’t do it because someone is watching. We do it because it’s the standard we’ve set for ourselves.

We may close for a few weeks every summer, but our dedication to keeping Geitonia incredibly clean never takes a vacation.

🇬🇷 One Week Left! 🇬🇷

You’ve got just one week left to enjoy your favorite Greek dishes before we take our long-awaited family vacation back to Greece! ❤️

From July 23rd through August 16th, our family will be taking a much-needed break to recharge, spend time together, and visit the place that inspires everything we serve. We’ll be back and ready to welcome you on August 17th!

If you’ve been craving a gyro, bowl, souvlaki, homemade soup, baklava, or your favorite Geitonia meal, now’s the time to stop by!
