The food pitt controversy
Were done.
We felt like there didnt need to be this but there does.
The video says it all. We take responsibility for everything that has been posted. We always have, we just didnt know it needed announced.
Were not placing blame. Not starting more arguments, politics or debates. Thats not us. Were not entertaining the online back and forth or fighting in comment sections. This is our facts, our context, our dread, our responsibility.
Everyone can agree that the best part of the internet can be used for spreading awareness, humor and education.
I think most people online can agree they've been through some sort of backlash online, no matter how small or big.
We missed the mark and we got it returned on us 10 fold. We deserved backlash but this went further than necessary. Hate us if you want.
We own our mistakes. We do not accept the lies and false rhetoric behind videos that we want to invoke humor.
Insensitive humor, yes were guilty. Death threats, lying, and projecting hell onto people who can look at both sides or even want to book us is sad and despicable. Its sad to see how many real people in person ask us if we got death threats yet, because they've been through it over much less.
We ask and beg, please stop spreading the child's face around. Its sad to see the levels we will go to hurt someone. To screenshot a specific frame of a video for a specific part. When we realized we took the caption down without question. I know you want to hurt us but this hurts the kid and his family. We ask if anyone sees that to please report it or ask for deletion. I put the caption in the video if you need it to screenshot and attack us.
People say we should not run our business this way but our business is built off and popularized from us and our humor. We admit we made our mistakes. Basing your opinion and sending death threats from false narratives is sad to see and hurts to feel.
The toxic online discourse is everywhere, but we get it negativity and drama feeds people. They want the tea.
From here on
We will still make jokes, we will be more careful. Less shock humor, more thought. We will not please everyone. We will continue to spread love and give back to the communities that we are in. We serve anyone and everyone. Help the kids, maybe help them spread more happiness to more people.
If you think we wouldnt serve a certain group of people then you have been fooled. We will always have good intent behind us. We will always give back to those in need even when were in need. We love you
