Grounded in restaurant fundamentals and comfort, Russell’s has been a trusted gathering place and Vail institution since 1989. Our cozy atmosphere and discernible staff make everyone feel like they are not just at home, but somewhere better than home. We offer the opportunity to experience exceptional and approachable fare paired with timeless mountain culture. Experiences at Russell’s generate memories that kids, friends, and families take home and retell all year until it’s time to go back again. We deliver a genuine connection between the staff and guests where everyone comes together to celebrate steak and the mountains. Russell’s is proud to offer a welcoming, relaxed and genuine experience in one of the world’s most exclusive and luxurious travel destinations. Founded by longtime Vail resident Ron Riley, Russell’s was built on the idea that great food and warm hospitality bring people together. He envisioned Russell’s as more than just a restaurant—it was a place where locals and visitors could relax, connect, and share stories over a perfectly cooked steak or fresh seafood. Now operated by his son, Drew Riley, Russell’s continues its legacy of exceptional food and friendly service, with a refreshed focus on the future. Russell’s: where locals and legends dine.

He loves to talk skiing, (Boston) sports, and he would love to hear about your time in Vail, so stop on over and see him (and us) this weekend!
