π¨ Rocky Road ice cream was created at Fentons Creamery.
In the 1920s, Fentons ice cream maker Melvin Fenton and candy maker George Farren took the flavors of Rocky Road candy and transformed them into ice cream by combining chocolate ice cream with walnuts and marshmallows.
In this video, Fentons owner Scott Whidden shares the story behind that creation, along with more of Melvin Fentonβs innovations, including Swiss Milk Chocolate and Toasted Almond, which later became part of the famous Black & Tan Sundae.
