A little peek behind the scenes at one of our classics: Olde Tyme Vanilla! 🍦

Depending on the flavor and demand, a single Velvet production run can produce around 2,000 cartons of ice cream headed to freezers across our footprint.

Before that carton reaches your spoon, the mix goes through carefully controlled steps like blending, pasteurization, freezing and filling. Quick freezing helps create the small ice crystals that give ice cream its smooth, creamy texture.

What a great Sunday in New Albany! 🍦👟

Velvet Ice Cream was proud to support the 2026 Healthy New Albany Walking Classic this past Sunday, an incredible community tradition that brings people together in the spirit of health, wellness and giving back.

This year’s “Miles for Meals” event supported the Healthy New Albany Food Pantry and its important work helping provide access to healthy food for families throughout the community.

Velvet Vice President Joanne Dager was there at the finish line, congratulating walkers and handing out a well-earned treat: Velvet Ice Cream sandwiches! 🍦

Congratulations to everyone who participated, and thank you to Healthy New Albany for continuing to make such a positive impact in the community. We were proud to be a part of such a special event!

Today, we remember.

On September 11, 2001, in the midst of unimaginable tragedy, ordinary people showed extraordinary courage.

One of those people was Welles Crowther, a 24-year-old volunteer firefighter who became known as “The Man in the Red Bandana.” Welles helped lead others to safety inside the South Tower of the World Trade Center, returning again and again to help people he had never met.

Twenty-five years later, his story remains a powerful reminder of courage, selflessness, and what it means to put others before yourself.

Today, all of us at Velvet Ice Cream remember Welles, the first responders, the heroes, and all those whose lives were lost or forever changed on September 11, 2001.

We will never forget. 🇺🇸
