You can engineer a spacecraft flawlessly and still miss the mark if it doesn't work for the person actually operating it, how they think, how they decide, what keeps them steady under pressure.

Graduate student Sneha Gayen studies that gap between good engineering and good design for the human being who has to use it.

🎤 Putting the Human in Human Spaceflight: Designing for Brains, Decisions, and Values
🗓️ September 13, 1-2 PM
📍 Rigg's Beer Company

Presented by graduate student Sneha Gayen, advised by Dr. Wroblewski, Department of Aerospace Engineering

This Thursday, 8/6/26, we're releasing our West Coast Pils: a true farm-to-farm collaboration with the Carpenter family, who have been growing hops in Washington's Yakima Valley for 6 generations. Austin Carpenter himself even flew out to help us brew this one and catch the final night of Riggs-Fest!

The concept of a West Coast Pils is simple: take the crushability of a classic pilsner and hop it with modern American hop varieties. Expect an aroma that takes you straight back to school lunch fruit salad, backed by a delightful hint of hop resin. We kept the bitterness moderate so the beer stays balanced, clean, and completely crushable... because it's a Pils.

Enjoy the fruits of our labor!

ABV: 5.5%
IBU: 32
Grain: Riggs-Grown 6 Row, Riggs-Grown 2 Row, Riggs-Grown White Corn
Boil Hops: Carpenter-Grown Krush
Dry Hops: Carpenter-Grown Simcoe Cryo, Carpenter-Grown Krush

The German Food Truck Inc. will be here Thursday from 4-8 pm with a special pairing of Bauerntopf (Farmer Stew) and their regular menu.

Wood matters. So does the beer.

Right now we're pouring three wood-aged lagers:
🍺 American oak-aged American Lager
🍺 Light sugar maple-aged Helles
🍺 Medium sugar maple-aged Helles

Grab a flight and discover how each aging process adds its own subtle character. Which one wood you choose?
