When we ask our customers why they love our coffee, they say, “I don’t know, it’s just my favorite.” We could claim that it’s the quality beans we carefully source from small farms who care for their lands, or the constant refining we do to hone in the perfect roast level for each coffee, or the fact that we offer a spectrum of coffees to choose from so there’s something for everyone - it most certainly could be that.

But maybe it’s also the secret ingredient of joy and belonging that comes from loving where and who you work with.

It definitely could be the vibes.

The best way to brew your coffee is how you like it! If you’re looking to get a little more precise and dial in your recipe, we recommend starting with a couple of the above items (number 5 is nonnegotiable 😉) and experiment with temperature and grind.

What’s your preferred brew method? Ours is pour over or espresso.

20 years ago, our dad and Iris took a trip to Europe and loved the coffee there. When they got home, they couldn’t find good coffee anywhere. So dad decided to learn how to make it himself.

Little did he know he was creating the foundation for what would become his dream come true.

When he bought the Homestead General Store in 1980, he fantasized about making it a family business. When the coffee side of things came into play, it became the perfect opportunity for us to learn from him and make something we could call our own.

Over the years we’ve grown organically, through word of mouth, and our family has flourished. Countless people say Homestead coffee is the best coffee they’ve ever had.

You can believe it when we say we truly look forward to coming to work each day, surrounded by an amazing crew and an incredible community.

We are simply blessed. And we literally would not be here without you. As a thank you, we’ll be dropping a celebratory offer soon - stay tuned.

Most decaf coffee sucks. Since its invention, producers have treated the less energizing version as the ugly step-child, deciding that if the caffeine left, the flavor had to too.

We disagree. Decaf should not be an afterthought.

Whether you’re cutting back on caffeine, enjoying an evening cup, or simply love coffee without that buzz, you deserve a cup that’s rich, flavorful and roasted with the same care as all specialty coffee.

Our Ethiopian Decaf is an excellent, juicy, full-bodied medium roast, so delicious you’d never know it’s decaffeinated. If you like a darker experience, Steady Eddy is the decaf version of our most popular dark roast, Upper Black Eddy’s Darkness.

Whichever one you choose, rest assured that they’re both water-processed, which means you can enjoy the benefits of decaf without the chemicals.

First we try a few different coffees, then we pick our faves. From there, we experiment with the roast levels to find which one stands out. Then we taste and refine that one to make it sing.
