Went to KC Mutual Aid this afternoon to learn more about supporting those on a mission to serve and to lift one another and our neighbors in need. Sunny and Sam went to enjoy CHASM and Scream Queens vegan ice cream! Picked up free plants from fave farmer balenciagababajaga, decorated a mask, shopped local art, and can’t wait to go back!

Sunday, funday with two of my kiddos picking zucchini and squash for Catholic Charities Kansas City Serve&Lift Market at Lone Jack’s Garden of Hope this morning.

Look for each in the market this week in our produce aisle and in prepared meals.

Succotash is on its way with our fresh sweet corn, peppers and onions, zucchini and yellow squash. Filling some blossoms with creamy ricotta and herbs for a shallow fry app, and rounding out our summer garden meal with an apricot Crumbler.

So grateful for the invitation to take part in the 4th annual Gumbo Fest Zhou B Art Center benefiting The Prospect KC. Thank you, Shanita McAfee! The wind was strong, but the vibes were much stronger. Such a fantastic event where we were able to highlight Catholic Charities Kansas City presence in South KC and make great connections with other organizations on a mission to help our neighbors in need. Congrats to Gumbo Fest participants AND WINNERS! Great gumbo was made and shared … maybe we enter a team next year?!?! We have a year to prepare -- anyone in?

Thanks for the rotisserie deli containers for our roast chickens which will be available in the Serve&Lift Market just in time for dinner Wednesday night and all day Thursday, while supply lasts.
