Having grown up in Czechoslovakia, Jack experienced many of the exceptional, traditional deli foods first hand in the heart of Eastern Europe, where the deli was born. His goal was to bring these wonderful foods and dishes along with the traditional dishes he grew up on at home, to his new restaurant. Harry moved to Los Angeles in 1982, and in 1997 Gary Lebowitz joined Alvie as his partner. Jack p

assed away in 2002 but his legacy remains. Today, nearly all the dishes at Jack’s are still prepared the same way, from scratch, using only the finest ingredients from around the country. You can enjoy all the classics like chicken soup, matzo balls, corned beef, pastrami, potato pancakes, blintzes, kugel, homemade turkey and even our own incredible pastries. Over the years Jack’s continued to add menu items to appeal to almost any taste. In addition to the deli foods and traditional dishes, patrons can also enjoy a selection of tremendous salads, wraps, burgers, stuffed cabbage, weight conscious and portion size dishes and much more – all made fresh with great care.
