IJADE ỌPA ẸYỌ
The IJADE ỌPA ẸYỌ is a ceremonial procession that embodies the heritage and continuity of Lagos. As its center is the Opambata- a symbol of authority, guidance, and blessings-carried in measured procession through the city.
This procession is led by the Akinisiku of Lagos, Chief Adebola Olalekan Alabi Dosunmu, The Custodian of the Adamu Orisha play, this process signals the official commencement of the upcoming Adamu Orisa Play (Eyo Festival 2025) happening on the 27th December 2025 at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos.
Through this IJADE ỌPA ẸYỌ, Lagos honours its ancestral order, borne in procession, signifies guidance and protection. The Eyo Festival 2025 is dedicated to the First Military Governor of Lagos State, Brig. Mobolaji Johnson, First Civilian Governor of Lagos State, Alhaji Lateef Kayode Jakande, another Former Governor of Lagos State, Sir Michael Otedola and Mother of the President, Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji, OON, MFR
Event was hosted today by the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu at the Lagos House, Marina.
