Look around for a second. The trees, the birds, the grass, the clouds--everything praises the Lord. Everything created by the Lord is beautiful and has purpose--just like you. If He clothed an evil world with such beauty, how much more will He clothe YOU, His beloved creation, with righteousness and grace! This verse brings so much peace if you know the Lord, but the only way to know the Lord is to experience Him for yourself. I could tell you all day about the things He's done for me and the amount of love I feel from Him, but you will never know that love personally until you have a personal RELATIONSHIP with Him. You can know all the things and read all the scripture, but if you don't put it in your heart and truly believe and meditate on it, it'll do nothing for you. You won't always feel Him or be on fire for Him, but you will always know He's there, and that's worth everything.

I think a lot of people think that once you come to the Lord, life is sunshine and rainbows. But He never promises us that and actually tells us the opposite (John 16:33). David, one of the most faithful people in the Bible, struggled with his flesh and living in this world. He knew God personally and had great faith, yet he still doubted. If you know Jesus, let this comfort you: you're not alone. Everyone struggles in this life and fighting the flesh is hard. It can feel like the enemy is defeating you, but keep going and looking to the Lord; He has already defeated the enemy! If you don't know Jesus, don't let this scare you away. Life is hard with or without Jesus. It's a little harder with Jesus only because you're going against the very thing your flesh desires and you're living in a broken world that's not your home. But when you have Jesus, you have hope in the midst! You have someone to look to when life gets hard and scary. You have someone to put your trust in when things seem impossible. This season won't last! There is hope on the way!

When you put your trust in God, you will not be shaken. You can go throughout this life putting your trust in people, money, jobs, and whatever else you can think of, but nothing will ever give you peace and security like Jesus Christ will. Knowing Him brings confidence because you know that whatever happens, He is there and He's working it out for your GOOD. You know He has a plan and it's to PROSPER you, not harm you. You know He LOVES you and would never do anything to hurt you, only benefit you. Anxiety, worry, stress, and fear come when we turn away from the Lord. Peace, security, and faith come when we constantly look to Him for strength. If you don't know what else to do, go to God. He's the best and only choice if you want to live a life of freedom and confidence.

A relationship with God isn't for show. It's not to act more righteous than someone else. It comes from a deep longing to be with Him every day. The faith of the Pharisees and teachers of the law was only for show; they didn't have true faith or else they would've believed Jesus. Instead, they had Him killed. A relationship isn't talking to God because you're "supposed" to or your parents do. A relationship is when you talk to God because you WANT to. Because you've been lost before and the only one who could find you was the Lord. Because you've been in a pit and the only one who could pull you out was Jesus. You will never truly love Jesus if you don't experience Him for yourself. We are not Christians only outwardly. He renews us from the INSIDE out (Matt. 23: 25-26). If there's no fruit, nothing you can say will tell people you love Jesus. Others see that through our actions, not just our words.

What is salvation? Is it coming to God once and never coming again? Is it coming only when you need Him? Or is it a daily relationship? The correct answer is the third option. Salvation means you know you're a sinner in need of a Savior. Then, you repent of that sin and start living your life for God. It's pretty normal around here to get "saved" at a young age, think you're good, then go in the opposite direction the rest of your life. But salvation isn't one and done; it's a process. If you have received Christ, CONTINUE your life IN HIM. Just because you acknowledged Him once doesn't mean you're good to go. He knows hearts, and if yours isn't in it, you need to check on that. Let me be clear, you cannot LOSE your salvation. Jesus died to conquer sin and death, so your sin cannot take your salvation away from you. But if your life isn't changed by God and you're not seeking Him, you either were never saved or you've strayed away and need to come back to Him. Either way, He's waiting with open arms. Come to Him and live your life for Him! You won't regret it!

The same God that worked through teenage David to kill a giant is the same God living today. The same God that redeemed Paul from his old ways of life is the same God living today. The same God that raised Jesus back to life is the same God living today. This God is active and moving here on this earth. If you want Him to, He can LIVE IN you! He is a powerful, mighty, gracious God, and that will never change! If you take just one look at the Bible, read one story, there is no doubt you will see God's goodness if you read it in context and look closely. This is such amazing grace because His SPIRIT that empowered so many people to share the gospel, and even give up their life for it, is the same Spirit that can dwell in you. Let Him give you that power and boldness to do what you were created to do!

Paul was an amazing example of a believer. He was faithful and obedient to the Lord no matter what. He was beaten and imprisoned multiple times. Paul was never conformable, and we shouldn't be either. After a life of persecuting Christians, He came to realize God is good and wanted nothing to do with the world afterwards. He devoted his life to preaching the gospel. So he is saying here that if the people have taken away anything from his preachings, they should obey it. He's not saying this because he's self righteous. He's saying this because he knows the difference between life with and without Jesus, and he knows how to get there. When we soften our hearts and let God and others lovingly correct us, we will grow so much more than if we stayed where we were at. Put into practice the things Paul did because he put into practice what JESUS did, and He's our main example!
