TasteAtlas.com gives Thailand’s Phat Kaphao top honours in world’s best list

Thailand’s Phat Kaphao, sometimes spelt as Pad Gapao, has now made it to the top of the “Best Stir-Fries in the World 2023” list released by TasteAtlas.com.

Phat Kaphao is traditional Thai stir-fry combines minced meat or seafood with holy basil [kaphao] and various other ingredients such as shallots, garlic and chilli peppers. The dish is flavoured with soy sauce, sugar and fish sauce and typically comes served with rice, fried egg and fish sauce on the side.

Other Thai dishes to make the list are Pad Thai (stir-fired noodles with tamarind sauce) ranked 8th, Phat Si-Ew (stir-fried noodles with dark soy sauce) 19th, Khua Kling (stir-fried meat in red curry paste) 23rd and stir-fried chicken with cashews 44th.

Thai curry is as delicious as any nation in the world! The TasteAtlas website ranks the world's 100 best curries. "Panang" takes the number 1 spot. Many other Thai curries are also ranked, including Massaman curry , Green curry, Red curry and Kanom Jeen liquid.
