After all these years of support, love, and happiness, I want to say thank you.

My Ice Cream Roll has been blessed with some of the most amazing customers anyone could ask for. The love and support you have shown us through social media, Google reviews, and in person has meant more to me than words can express.

When my daughter was born, I didn't buy a single thing for her until she was six months old. Everything—from clothes to car seats—came as gifts from customers. That alone shows the kind of community you have helped create around this little business.

I started working when I was 8 years old. Today, I feel it is finally time for me to retire and dedicate more of my time to my wife and children. Family has always been important to me. I want to raise children who have common sense and who are not jealous of what other people have, no matter where they come from. Now I want to enjoy the moments that I missed while building this dream.

Every child who walked through our doors was treated like one of my own. Every smile, every conversation, and every memory has been a gift to me.

I also flirted respectfully (at least I believe it was respectful) with many people just to make their day a little better. I know sometimes it may have made me look like a weirdo, but I have always been myself. I never had 3,000 different faces.

I know I have made mistakes along the way, and for those, I sincerely ask for your forgiveness. But I hope you will also remember the good things we shared together, because everything I did came from a place of love and appreciation for this community.

Thank you for allowing me to be part of your lives. Thank you for supporting My Ice Cream Roll. Thank you for the friendships, the memories, and the kindness you have shown my family.

This is not goodbye to the memories we created together. Those memories will stay with me forever.

When someone has a problem with you and goes around speaking badly about you to everyone instead of confronting you and talking to you directly, they don't really have a problem with you. They are simply seeking attention by speaking negatively about you.

One of the most beautiful stories I love to share happened about two years ago.

A wonderful family came to visit us with their beautiful daughter, who was about ten years old. She struggled with stuttering and was very shy, rarely wanting to speak to anyone.

I treated her the same way I treat my own children. I gave her the opportunity to make her own ice cream, and then I gave her a free counter and told her, “Set a goal for yourself every day. Add just one more word than the day before. If you speak ten words today, try for eleven tomorrow, then twelve the next day, and keep going.”

About two years later, her mother came back to visit. While we were talking, she smiled and said, “Now it’s almost impossible to get her to stop talking! She has become so confident, and she loves you very much. She wanted me to thank you for encouraging her.”

This story reminds me that a simple act of kindness, encouragement, or belief in someone can make a bigger difference than we ever imagine. Sometimes, all a person needs is someone who believes in them and gives them a chance to believe in themselves.

Rest in peace, Adam. Burgess said you were a great kid. He loved you and said you motivated him. He always talked about how respectful and kind you were.

A customer told me that she is much older than me, so I asked her, "Can you smile?" She said yes. Then I asked her, "Can you love?" She said yes. So I told her, "If you can smile and love, then you haven't reached eighteen yet."

My friend, our ages are measured by many things, including culture, awareness, smiles, the amount of love, and the beauty we hold inside.

So neglect your numerical age and focus on love, smiles, and creativity.
