🚨 Major Appreciation Post: Employee Edition 🚨

Y’all. These kids. They’re great. And not just the ones in the picture. We have SUCH a great team across the board💪💪

They do a great job. Scooping ice cream isn’t always sunshine and rainbows and unicorns ☀️ 🌈 🦄 sometimes it’s crazy here, sometimes there are some less-than-kind customers, and there are always dishes, trash, cleaning, and more, but they do it with a smile and they do it well.

People want to rag on “this generation”, but I promise you there are some really, really good ones out there.

We took a little beach trip last week and being gone always induces some anxiety for a business owner. We came back and I almost cried happy tears. Our ice cream making crew killed it on making pints and other tasks I had no idea they were going to tackle. The biggest thank you to this team for doing more than simply keeping the train on the tracks ❤️

So for those following along…. You may know we had a little fire here a couple weeks ago…. Now everyone is experiencing the wildfire smoke coating everything… is that the universe telling us we need some kind of smoky flavor?!

It’s a vanilla base with Old Bay and Caramel swirled in. You know, the salty-sweet thing ✨ You’ll definitely want to try a sample if you’re not already in the know— we’ve found it’s usually a love-it-or-hate-it flavor!

This flavor has quite a large fan base— in fact, Jim here ordered these pints before we even made our first batch this season! Jim seemed like a pretty cool guy and therefore is the recipient of some very fancy artwork too 🦀🐄

We are back open for the week AND more importantly, it’s 🐄 Cow 🐮 Appreciation 🐂 Day!

Obviously this is one of the best days of the year— these moojestic animals are the whole reason our Creamery is what it is! We love our cattle and are grateful we get to take care of them each and everyday.

And the really cool part? We have a hand in almost every step of the ice cream making process. We raise the cows, calves, crops that feed them, milk them, and make the ice cream here on the farm. 🐄➡️🍦

CUPS ARE HERE!

(To be read in a Jersey Shore “cabs are here” voice— and yes, staff will tell me “it’s giving millennial” when they see this)

Anyway, we buy our cups and pint containers in bulk. I mean BULK. Like, 30,000 of each at a time because it saves some cost. We were thrilled to see our pints show up the other day, and the truck driver was thrilled that we could unload with equipment instead of box by box by hand!

PS we were finally able to get American-made cups!

Yesterday we hosted a really, really cool group of kids. Playtime Pastures Farm hosts a summer camp where kids do farm chores, learn where food comes from (hint: it's not the grocery store), and see how great life is away from a screen. They were so respectful, with wonderful questions, and controlled energy.

We get a lot of questions around "can my kids come do farm chores?" and while we can't really accommodate that, Playtime Pastures is a great option to check out!
