Cajian, a new Cajun and Creole counter-service restaurant from the team behind Ajian Sushi, opens Saturday on University Boulevard in downtown Tuscaloosa.

As the Thread reported this spring, it's the third local concept from restaurateur Pete Zimmer, a Culinary Institute of America graduate with 42 years in the industry.

The countdown is on… Cajian officially opens to the public on Saturday, August 8th! 🐊⚜️

We’re bringing Louisiana roots, Alabama heart, and Cajian soul to T-Town with po’boys, étouffée, baskets, bowls, sweet treats, and plenty of Southern hospitality!

We won’t have our liquor license quite in time for opening day, so our house made cocktails, beer, and the famous Lil’ Boozie King Cake Adult Shakes will have to make their grand entrance just a little later. The approval is already in the works, and as soon as it’s here, we’ll be extending our hours so the good times can roll even longer! 🎉
