able, please see our pet policy. We are located just 1 mile from Grand Canyon National Park South Rim entrance. The National Park Service operates a free seasonal shuttle to provide easy transport from Tusayan into the park. You can board the shuttle at convenient stops within walking distance of the Red Feather Lodge. This area offers a wide array of outdoor recreational activities. From our Grand Canyon, Arizona hotel, experience exciting air tours over the park, hiking, jeep tours and horseback riding. Park passes can be purchased at our front desk.

When descending into the Grand Canyon, the temperature increases by roughly 5.5°F (2.8°C) for every 1,000 feet of elevation loss.Because the South Rim sits at roughly 7,000 feet and the Colorado River flows at about 2,000 feet, hiking to the bottom means dropping 5,000 vertical feet. 🥵

Description: Enjoy a special astronomy presentation in the visitor center plaza followed by hours of free telescope viewing behind the visitor center! Up to 80 telescopes per night will be setup. Laser-guided constellation talks begin at 9, 9:30 and 10 pm. This event is free!
