That’s going to be a wrap for PVT y’all! We had intended on being open Saturday, but we literally sold out of everything tonight!

But while I have your attention I want to quickly say, just to share some perspective, that had we been remotely even been a 1/3 this busy all year as we have been this week we wouldn’t have found ourselves here at “good-bye”. And I simply say that to say, everyone isn’t going to love each & every mom & pop local restaurant or store, but when you find the ones that speak to your heart or tummy, please support those places vigorously!! Those are the places that make your community unique from every other community and most all of them are in need of your support these days. We’ll also never get the water parks, the amphitheaters & the Indian restaurants that I constantly hear folks beg for if we don’t support the things we do have and show the need for such broader endeavors to the folks who are willing to invest in such projects. Let’s don’t find ourselves waiting 2+ hours for a table on closing week at our favorite joints, begging for them to stay open, because we took them for granted and assumed that they’d just always be there to serve us. There’s a lot of places that are special & unique to Tupelo that could go either way right now, so let’s continue to fight for them! This can even include your favorite taqueria.

Thanks for the opportunity to serve y’all. We’ve truly enjoyed it! I’m thankful we gave it a shot and that all of my staff can easily find the opportunity for further employment, which isn’t always the case. Maybe we’ll bring PVT back to life on down the road, or maybe this was all she wrote. Who knows what the future holds, but hopefully this wild & crazy climate passes us by soon. I hope to see Tupelo’s palate continue to grow!

Wowzers Tupelo, thanks for the love last night!! That was one wild, fun ride! We’ll be back at it tonight at 5pm, HOWEVER due to expected volumes the rest of this week we won’t be taking any more to go orders or Tupelo2Go deliveries, as we hope to service those that choose to dine in with us to the fullest. We were in the weeds from the jump last night with all the call in orders in addition to immediately filling up upon opening, so we’ll have that throttled back a bit tonight and hopefully the dine in experience will roll a bit smoother. Hope to see another packed house tonight on this farewell to Tupelo tour!! Cheers

As previously planned, for the Labor Day weekend, we’re closed tonight. We’ll be open Wed & Thurs from 5-9pm, Fri. from 5-10pm and Sat. from 11am-10pm.

It’s with a heavy heart that I’m announcing that this will be our last week of operations at Pizza vs Tacos. To put it bluntly, it’s been a tumultuous year and a half now on the restaurant industry, and frankly most industries. I feel confident that had we chosen a different time frame to open within that our story would’ve turned out differently, but who knew all that back in Oct. 2019? I’m forever grateful to JD and the rest of my crew, both front and back of the house for their efforts & attitudes throughout it all. Y’all literally have no idea as to the efforts many of them have given to keep this dream afloat! I’m proud of them and they’ll forever my teammates!

I’m also proud of our products and our unwillingness to not cut any corners to bring Tupelo something unique. We were ahead of our time in a town that thinks the newest Mexican restaurant is somehow doing something differently than the others, meanwhile none of them are even grinding their own corn. This, by no means, is the last effort you’ll see out of me as I will continue to keep trying to make Tupelo a more enjoyable place to live and a more exciting place to eat. I want to say thanks to everyone that has supported us, whether you came in once or 4 times a week. It’s been a real pleasure serving y’all and hopefully we’ll see y’all a time or two more this week and we make our exit!!
