The Carefree Quail is popping up at the Craft District with handmade pottery you’ll actually want to use, mugs, vessels, and one-of-a-kind pieces made through a high-fire process that’s food, dishwasher, and microwave safe.

Fun fact: their unglazed pieces use a process called nucleation, which releases oxygen into your drink and helps bring out subtle flavors, so yes, your w**e actually tastes better out of one of these. Stop by, shop handmade, and see the craft up close.

Julie Kluh left her graphic design job at 26, sailed through Central America and the South Pacific for nearly a decade, and eventually found her way back home to Olympia to follow her heart as a painter. Now, her luminous ocean waves and Pacific Northwest landscapes live right here in the Craft District, at Kluh Art Gallery.

Every piece is original, one of a kind, and rooted in a love for the water and this region. Stop by and see where her story led her.
