Flipping thru pics and came across these pics of the morning I walked out of a SH*TTY job and swore I wouldn't be used and taken advantage of again in my lifetime if I can help it. This was the 4th or 5th time in just over a month I walked into night shift's undone work!!! I didn't even take a pic of the full 3 compartment sink also full of dishes and my boss, the head chef walks in and squeezes thru the racks of dishes and sees me working my ass off and ignores it. The prep cooks were slammed prepping for a big event and asked if chef saw the mess and I said "OF COURSE HE DID AND KEPT WALKING!" he half turned as he heard. OH, OK, I SEE.....so the morning buffet dishes start barreling in to the point there's barely room to even walk thru and he walks by and says "Hey, I need u to go straighten some dishes on a rack that weren't put up correctly last night." I walk over and it's LITERALLY 1 serving plate......THAT WAS IT FOR ME, LAST STRAW! The nerve to see me struggling and not offer help or apologize for letting night crew leave me dirty AGAIN & THEN be petty over 1 dish instead of just doing it as he walked by. Ok, BYE. I grabbed my things and walked on out. All this to say: NEVER let a SH*TTY boss and/or SH*TTY company use and abuse you, especially for $13/hr in 2026 WTFFF. I took it because I was nervous to have my business as sole income. The VERY next day I was offered a monthly meeting order from a company that had been my bread and butter from the beginning letting me set up in their parking lot rain or shine and sell my products i beleived in. It was and still is HUGE for me!!! Guess my point is, BELIEVE IN YOURSELF AND WALK AWAY FROM SITUATIONS THAT WILL EVENTUALLY DESTROY YOU. WHEN YOU KNOW IT'S YOUR TIME, GO WITH IT.
I went home and made myself a strong drink and celebrated freedom. Wonder who he made do those damn dishes....jackass. ***Thank you soooooo much to everyone who has supported me through this journey so far. Every encouraging word, invitation to set up for an event, pat on the back, honest feedback has kept me out of horrible working conditions and I'm truly grateful. HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!
