So, what exactly is Giardiniera? We get asked this all the time!

Giardiniera (pronounced jar-din-AIR-uh) is an Italian-style pickled vegetable mix, typically made with peppers, celery, carrots, cauliflower, and other veggies packed in a tangy, zesty brine or oil. Chicago-style giardiniera brings a little extra heat and a whole lot of flavor! 🔥

✨ Why Magic City Cafe? A little Tulsa history! ✨

We get asked all the time how we came up with the name Magic City Cafe, and the answer is rooted right here in Tulsa's history.

Back in the early 1900s, Tulsa was growing at an incredible pace. Following the discovery of oil nearby, fortunes were made, businesses sprang up, and the city transformed almost overnight. It seemed like a little magic was happening, earning Tulsa the nickname “The Magic City.” Tulsa would also become known as the “Oil Capital of the World.”

Our downtown is full of reminders of that remarkable era. The historic buildings, beautiful architecture, and stories of the people who helped shape this city are part of what makes Tulsa so special.

📖 The book pictured here, 4th & Boston: Heart of the Magic Empire, tells the story of downtown Tulsa during those formative years — the oil boom, the people who built the city, and the buildings that became symbols of its growth and prosperity.

When we chose the name Magic City Cafe, it felt like a fitting tribute to the history surrounding us. We wanted a name that belonged to Tulsa, celebrated its roots, and felt right at home in our downtown building.

Today, we're proud to be part of downtown Tulsa's continuing story, serving up fresh food and a little hometown hospitality along the way. ❤️

A little rain and cooler temps call for something warm and comforting! Today, we’re serving up a bowl of our Tulsa 4-Way Chili or a hot cup of Beef Stroganoff Soup. 🥣

And if you're in the mood for a sandwich, we've got two Steamrollers on the menu today!

Happy Thursday Tulsa! It's a rainy day, perfect for a bowl of our Tulsa 4-way chili!

Beef and bean chili served over macaroni noodles and topped with shredded cheese and onions. It's mmm mmm good!

Our hot special is our Okie Steamroller- Smoked Bologna on our steamed roll served with our house BBQ sauce.
