Ingredients:
1 small head of cabbage, shredded
1 tbsp sesame oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
2 tbsp soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)
1 tbsp rice vinegar
1 tsp maple syrup (or honey)
1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds
1 tbsp green onions, chopped (for garnish)
1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional)
Instructions:
Prepare the cabbage: Shred the cabbage into thin strips. Set aside. (3 minutes)
Stir-fry the garlic and ginger: Heat sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, sautéing for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. (2 minutes)
Add the cabbage: Add the shredded cabbage to the pan and stir-fry for 5-6 minutes until the cabbage wilts and becomes tender, stirring occasionally. (6 minutes)
Season the cabbage: Stir in the soy sauce, rice vinegar, and maple syrup. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to combine and the cabbage to absorb the seasoning. (3 minutes)
Garnish and serve: Sprinkle toasted sesame seeds, chopped green onions, and chili flakes (if using) on top before serving. (2 minutes)
Serve and enjoy: Serve as a side dish with your favorite Asian-inspired meal or enjoy it on its own! (0 minutes)
