Hello Tucson!

For those of you who don't know us we are a Mexican and Indigenous restaurant located at 722 N. Stone Ave near downtown Tucson. We are a 3 generation family owned restaurant and have been sharing our food and the love it is made with since 1983.

Our founder, Maria Garcia have always believed that no one should ever have to go hungry and believes deeply in the power of community and has instilled that deep belief in her family.

It has always been our policy that if someone comes to the restaurant and are hungry but don’t have the means, we will make sure they know someone cares and make sure they leave with food in their belly.

We understand that there is a serious crisis going on in our country right now and that there are people, families and children going hungry right here in our community. We want to make sure people know that if they come to the restaurant and request a "Community Special" we will provide 1 bean and rice burrito per person as well as chips and salsa to anyone that is suffering from hunger, No need to provide a snap card, we just want to help.

That being said, once word got out we have had an immense number of customers ask if they could help with the effort to feed the hungry in Tucson so we have created this page as a venue for our loyal and wonderful friends to help with that effort.

We want to remind the community that our community free meals that consist of rice and beans burrito (vegan) are still happening and have been since 1983. We announced it on this via of communication KOLD 13 a few months ago when the snap program was canceled here in Arizona. When the stamps were restored we saw a decline in activity but now: The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) has not been completely cancelled, but millions of recipients have lost their food assistance due to major federal cuts and stricter eligibility requirements.
This week we have seen a spike in the amount of people that are coming in for the community “no questions asked” meal. If you find it in your heart to donate towards community meals, here is the link:

Good morning, it is our pleasure to offer meals to those experiencing hunger. We welcome visitors anytime between 11am-9pm, Monday through Friday, and Saturday after 5pm and Sunday starting at noon. Our standard community meal features a rice and beans burrito served with chips and salsa. However, our menu will undergo weekly changes. To receive your meal, kindly request the community meal. You can find us at 722 N. Stone Ave near University Blvd. Please just stop in, no need to call ahead, walk in and ask for your❤️ meal.
