What a special moment for our family and for the history of Detroit’s Chinese-American community. ❤️

Congratulations to Sandy Fatt and everyone involved with the *Chinatown* documentary series! We’re grateful that a little piece of Kim’s Family Restaurant is included in this wonderful project with Destination Detroit.

🎥 Watch the montage from 0:16–0:20 and you’ll catch footage of our restaurant in Troy!

Our family’s journey began with Kim’s Garden in Detroit, before moving to the suburbs in 1974. After 44 years in the restaurant business, we closed our doors on September 2, 2019.

Seeing these memories preserved brings back so many wonderful moments.

To all our former customers, friends and employees — thank you for being part of the Kim’s family story. ❤️

The crossover we didn’t know we needed - Ming Na is the voice of Disney’s ER and Uncle Roger, the Asian food critic & Influencer.
Wow - that’s a big wok for a home. 🤣😂

We use to run the carbon copy to imprint the credit card back in the 70’s. 🤣😂
