After twenty-eight years of serving the Detroit metro community, we have made the decision to close Priya. When the Kaza and Mandava families opened Priya on July 7, 1996 we were excited about our pioneering role as the first restaurant to introduce South Indian cuisine to Michigan diners. Over the years we were honored to have been able to feed so many of you and to have been part of your birthday, anniversary, graduation and wedding festivities. Whether you turned to Priya for weekday buffets or special events, we cherish the memories of all of you in our community. We have given so much of our lives to creating a space for you to enjoy fine Indian food, and we thank you deeply for your loyalty and support over the years. It's been a long ride, and we'll miss you!
Running a restaurant is non-stop, tiring work, and we look forward to some rest before seeing what's next for ourselves.
The good news is that Bheema's, an exciting new restaurant featuring an updated and contemporary take on Indian cuisine, will be taking over our space. Please check back soon!
