TRUTH Coffee & Meeting House

After careful consideration by Leanna and I, Truth Coffee & Meeting House will permanently cease operations on September 9th, 2025. This decision was made due to time constraints which did not allow us to dedicate the time needed to our primary business, Jesus Was a Carpenter. However, we are very pleased to announce that Patrica Parker has purchased all assets associated with TRUTH Coffee, and Southern Treats Ice Cream will now be known as “Southern Treats Ice Cream & Coffee Shop”! We have had a wonderful relationship with Pat and her crew at the Cafe. I am so thankful that she can continue to serve our community with coffee in this space. I am also thankful that the employment of our amazing team of baristas will remain secure during this transition.

We thank each of you for your support throughout our journey with TRUTH Coffee. Many of you have been with us since the beginning at our former State Park Rd. location, and it has been a great joy of ours to serve you. We are dedicated to ensuring a smooth transition for Pat and team, and we hope that you will continue to support them as the coffee shop continues in this new season.

Southern Treats Ice Cream & Coffee Shop is currently preparing to go into Winter Hours and are pleased to announce the new hours will be as following, beginning Saturday September 14th:

Wednesday through Saturday: 6am to 2pm
Sunday: 7am to 2pm

They will be open Thursday September 11th and Friday September 12th at 7am until 2pm, and will have additional staff on hand to ensure that they will be able to provide outstanding service to customers as they re-open.

I wanted to share another amazing local business with our followers, which can possibly help you guys. Let me introduce you to TurboBrakes Mobile Brake Repair, , a mobile brake job service provider serving the CLT and LKN areas. The Owner, Alex, is a great guy and this business really helped us out. We had an issue with my wife’s car late on a Friday afternoon. The vehicle felt like it was grinding with no pads, but the issue also felt a bit more serious to me, to the point where I didn’t feel like I could safely drive the van anywhere for a diagnosis. Alex came to our home that weekend and fixed the vehicle. Turns out that a caliper bolt which was not torqued to spec by a previous mechanic had loosened and fallen off of the vehicle. Alex diagnosed the issue, and told me the current specs for thickness on the pads and rotors, which thankfully did not yet need to be replaced and had a good amount more life left on both of them. Such honesty and integrity; rare to find in this world today. He replaced the bolt with a new one, torqued it to spec, and check every other caliper bolt on all four wheels for correct torque, since they may have all been touched by the same previous mechanic. The work was fast and convenient….and all for a very fair price. I couldn’t be happier! I’ll be calling them for future brake work, even if we could drive somewhere. Check them out today!
