….thats the phrase for tonight. One phrase that has held on to me for a while since I decided to walk away from DGS.

It’s no lie that I for a while lost my passion and died in my craft of cooking / making sushi. But the last few months, I got it back.

With support from my close friends, a really great corportate chef, executive sushi chef, and executive chef, and the 3 awesome sous chefs at Jacksons, I have decided to leave Jackson’s Bistro on Harbour Island to take a FT position as a GM of small sushi concept in downtown Tampa.

I am still keeping my nights as the sushi at the Lightning games as a part of my contract. But in the big picture, this is something that is needed for my future with my kids and what I need to accomplish in 2026.

Oh and one last thing…im also the executive chef of a food truck concept serving smash burgers and sushi.

It’s been too long since I’ve been here to say hello 👋🏻

I am beyond excited to announce what is happening with this space and the new journey.

Please follow Green Table Wild & Rooted - Trinity for this locations journey & new design.

This space was created with peace, positivity, and finding the best in everyone we meet. We value growth over comfort, collaboration over competition, and kindness above all. That was the original mission and what will continue.

This renovated location is designed for the dreamers, the daters, the foodies, and the flavor seekers. This new space will feature a refined dinner menu, a curated wine list, and a mix of craft cocktails and vibrant mocktails that will make your evenings unforgettable. We may be saying good bye to sushi, but we’re saying hello to new memories and date nights.

As I sit here thinking about last night and how to put into words how to express all these feelings…there is just no words that can describe it.

Just truly how thankful I am for everyone that showed up, all the comments, and personal messages received.

To all of you this restaurant you all called home, your hangout, your safe space. A place where you can come be yourself.

A place not only where you got good food, but a fun experience and introduction into the sushi culture.

A place where the kids loved to come and sit at the sushi bar for their birthdays.

This became a place for first dates, proposals, gatherings…and yes Friday night karaoke with the sushi chef.

And we cant forget the saké bombs!

I enjoyed my time serving each and everyone of you. I’m going to miss seeing all the kids come in that want to watch me make their food.

I am truly thankful for this community.

Again, this is not good bye, but hello and hi to a new chapter, a new beginning.

Things are in the works, and I’ll still be around.

I am forever grateful for the moments, the opportunities, the smiles, the give backs, and honestly even the tears.

Tonight is the night, the last night for Dang Good Sushi - Trinity.

Please stop in and say goodbye to us as Ashly, our kids, and myself close this chapter together and start our own chapters.

This hangout wouldn't be here without all of your support and loyalty through out the past years starting before covid, which turned into porch pick up, food truck, and now DGS - Trinity.

We will be opening starting at 5pm tonight and Ashly and girls will be there around 8pm.

Due to the demand of sushi the last couple of days, low inventory and only myself rolling, I have decided to do a limited appetizer menu and alcohol specials.

The menu will include:
Fried chicken dumplings
Fried vegetable egg rolls
Loaded tater tots with krab mix
Chicken tenders
Tempura shrimp appetizer
Laos style sausage

25% off all bottles of saké, champagne, wine, and beer.

So everyone come in, relax, enjoy a beer or saké with us and we will see you all tonight!

Chef Patrick here. This is a really hard post to write. But it’s time I walk away and focus.

First I want to thank Ashly. I am forever grateful for her strength and love for the community.

As I close Trinity & move forward, please one last request.

Follow Ashly & her journey. Shower her & the kids with compassion & grace. She is continuing Dang Good on Main in downtown NPR & will be open regular hours.

The time here is not lost. We did so much good. We had the best laughs and the most humbling moments.
