Ongoing ideas for first time planning an event.
After speaking with some professionals now you should site down and get serious about booking a venue and caterer. Narrow your list down and make any appointment. Thins I would look for would be how much you like the banquet room and the person you will be dealing with, a quote that has all the details you are looking for plus information on deposit, final payment, and when they will need your final information. Be sure to ask about a room for the Bride to get ready in, charges like cake cutting, staff, gratuities. Remember, nothing is for free so when the caterer starts making suggestions be sure to ask how much and get it on the proposal. Alsdo remember there will be items that you have and want at the reception. Do you get to come earlier that day to set things up or will the venue take care of it and if so how much will it cost. If you need your ceremony to take place at the venue ask how they do these things (separate room, fees, set up and breakdown etc.) I hope this is helpful. Maybe next time we can talk about the acutual day of the reception and what you should expect.
