**A Note from Chef Jerome**

Starting today, 4/30/2026, The Old School Diner will be closing for a little while as my family and I begin our **“Legacy”* total makeover**.

This place has always been more than just a diner to us — it’s been a place where folks come together, share a good meal, and make lasting memories. We’re thankful for every one of y’all who has walked through our doors and supported us over the years. You are all "Family."

Over the next several months, we’ll be making updates throughout the restaurant and fully remodeling our kitchen. We’re putting a whole lot of heart into this next chapter, and we’re excited for what’s ahead.

One look at Georgia’s "Old School Diner" and you might not think much of it at first. It doesn’t look like one of the best hidden diners in the state...but don’t let the odd setup fool you, because it absolutely is. Tucked down a dirt road in Townsend, Georgia, the Old School Diner is part soul food spot, part roadside attraction, and something you won’t forget. The carpeted parking lot is the first sign that this place is not normal. Inside, the walls are packed with more than 10,000 photos, old license plates, hubcaps, and all kinds of keepsakes. Chef Jerome Brown—who has cooked for famous people and even presidents—welcomes everyone like family. His well-known “Wheelchair Platter” is stacked high with fried shrimp, ribs, deviled crab, hush puppies, and more food than you expect. It’s BYOB, cash or app only, and every inch of the place feels full of real small-town charm.
